The Buck Starts Here ... Corporations are readily recognizable as litigants; however, their role in the evolution of EDD is far less clear ...
In our EDD Supplier Landscape volume, we asserted that changes in the corporate operating environment (e.g. impact of Sarbanes-Oxley) are driving companies to new levels of knowledge management -- new C-level positions responsible for compliance to development/management of document retention policies, as well as deployments of new infrastructure components to make it all work.
Actually, we went even further -- predicting that, in the future, corporations will be the principal decision-makers in EDD Supplier selection, not their litigation firms.
In this research project, we benchmark attitudes, usage, document management and EDD best practices of a cross-section of the nation's leading companies.
We sort out who (CEO, CLO, CIO, CFO, CCO) actually has the day-to-day ding-dong for compliance; and, how recent compliance changes are impacting litigation preparedness, strategies and management of external resources.
We will be very interested to compare and contrast the EDD landscape views of the the end-client litigants and bill-payers with those of their outside law firms and the product and service Suppliers.
