Each
of our Products are designed
to be installed as a "program" onto
your computer. When the
installation is complete,
you will access the Product
from your START menu (or
equivalent).
This ReadMe document describes
the processes of activating
and accessing a single
electronic Instance of
the Product. For most users,
this process is simple
and should take no more
than several minutes.

--> Windows
9x, NT, 2000, XP
--> Administrator
(or Power User) Permission
on your computer. The
download includes an
executable file which
requires that you have
administrative privileges
on your computer. If
you do not know whether
you do or you don't, consult with your IT people;
if you don't have IT people, you probably have administrator
privileges.
--> A
ZIP-compatible program,
such as Winzip, PKzip.
Windows XP has an embedded
compression program that
can be used to extract
the files from the ZIP
as well.
--> Adobe
Acrobat Reader 5.0 or
later. The Product document
format is PDF and you
must have Adobe Acrobat
5.0 or later to read
the document. You can
download a free reader
from Adobe at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

the Installation Process
The major steps of the
installation of an EDDix
Research Product are:
a) Acquire the ZIP file
(download or from CD ROM)
b) Extract the files.
c) Install the program
d) Activate the Product

Steps
a) Extract the File ...
If you saved the Zip file, open it to extract the
contents. Double click on the installation program
file named
EDDix_landscape_2004W.exe
If your computer is already running the set-up program,
keep reading ...
b) Installation ... what
you need to know ...
i)
The installation program
will create a program group
and install the PDF document
on your computer. The default
installation directory
is on your "C" drive
-- you may change this
to another drive or directory
if you desire. The total
file size of the program
group is less than 6 Mb.
ii) You will be asked
to read and accept a License
Agreement. You need to
do that for the program
to complete installation.
iii)
A dialog box will ask
you for an "Order
ID." Enter in the
Order ID provided in the
email we sent you. Press "Connect."
iv) The authorization
process will open your
browser and connect to
the EDDix web site. After
a few moments your "Authorization String" code
will appear in your default
browser window. The Authorization
String consists of nine (9) letters.
Write down the Authorization String or copy it to
your clipboard (CTL-C).
Minimize the browser window to return to the installation
dialog box.(do not close the browser window) to continue
with the installation. Or you may click on the task
bar entry called "FileOpen" to return to
the dialog box.
Enter the Authorization String in the dialog box.
Press "OK"
v) On the task bar locate the EDDix Installation
program and click on that to return to the final
step. Click "OK" to complete the installation
process.
The installed EDDix PDF will open directly after
installation.

==> Accessing the
Product ...
Once installation is complete
the Product PDF document
should automatically open
in your Adobe Acrobat Reader
or program. Alternatively,
and for future access,
you can open the PDF document
by using the Windows Start
button, going to Programs
and selecting the EDDix
program group.

This
Product has its own un-installer.
Navigate to the EDDix
product from your START
Bar (or equivalent)and
choose "Un-install." This
will remove the EDDix program
files from your system.

our documents. Here are
some things you cannot
do with this document:
print more than once, copy,
cut, paste, extract pages,
comment.
